Soma is the Greek word for body. Somatic work reconnects the body’s inner wisdom with the mind, helping us return to a deeper relationship with our authentic self. When the body holds energetic responses to stress or trauma, it can show up as physical tension, emotional patterns, or a sense of disconnection. Somatic practices support the release of these stored responses, often leading to greater ease, resilience, and emotional capacity.
Somatic work can include movement, breathwork, and therapeutic touch, all intended to support the natural flow of energy within the body. Jen has developed her approach by integrating the practices that resonate most with her training, values, and experience. Each session is guided intuitively and adapted to meet the unique needs of the individual.
During a session, we bring gentle awareness to the sensations, feelings, and emotions present in the body. At times, memories, images, or past experiences may surface in connection with these sensations. Rather than pushing them away, we pause and allow the body to safely process and shift the energy.
Through this process of awareness and presence, the body can release stored patterns and return to its natural rhythm. Jen’s approach creates a safe and supportive space where the nervous system can settle and reorganize. Over time, this work can help soften old patterns, restore balance, and create space for greater joy, freedom, and connection to one’s inner wisdom.
What is Somatic Work?
What does a typical session look like?
When working with Jen, you can expect good intake and dialogue around your reasons for seeking this work. During and in-person session, Blue Lotus tincture, a native flower of Egypt, is offered to help calm the nervous system and allow for a more meditative state. Typically, clients rest in shavasana with an eye mask and there is ambient music playing in the background, although clients can be in their most comfortable position and masks are optional. Jen allows the client to identify what arises as they begin to uncover and work through what is happening within. Jen may use tuning forks to help with any sensations or movement of energy.
Clients may experience grief, anger, warmth, shaking, and a variety of other sensations, feelings, and emotions as energy presents itself and begins to move throughout the body. Jen will guide and support you as you navigate your journey. Sessions typically end with an integration conversation and tea is offered.
Jen suggests 2-3 weeks in between sessions to allow full integration and offers support in between sessions as needed.
Who is this work good for?
This work is for people who are ready to expand and grow. It’s for those who are exhausted from living in negative energetic states attempting to manage fear, anxiety, doubt, shame, etc, without lasting change. It’s for people to understand that our human form is a form of energy. It’s for people who are ready to step into their power through connection to self.
It’s for those who are on the healing and expansive path but need to connect on a deeper level and those who have tried other healing modalities but still feel stuck.

“My somatic session with Jen was calming, cleansing and also insightful. To notice the shifting energy in my body and the thoughts that came through in the stillness was really powerful. Jen is incredibly supportive. I felt safe to relax and allow the experience to happen. I didn’t have any particular expectations for how the journey would unfold, so it was all so interesting so see what came up. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one. Thank you so much!”

“In a season of my life that has been full of noise and transition, Jen offered me a genuine invitation to just be still. She held space beautifully and I left our session feeling a little more settled and connected to myself.”
